Mark Jennings, vocalist of 38th Parallel
Mark Jennings, member of Christian rock band 38th Parallel, shares that he also committed the lordship of his life to Christ because of the love shown to him by other Christians. His fellow band members today are the very "kids" he refers to meeting back in high school. It was their expression of love toward Mark that led him to re-evaluate the life he was living.
"The things I noticed about these kids was their intense love for God and their intense love for me," Mark recalls. "They didn't know me from anybody else, but they took me in like no one ever did. From then on, I said, 'God whatever You want to do with my life, it's yours. Take it, because if this is the kind of God that You are, and I know that You are, and the love that You have, then I'm Yours.'"
No matter what role you play in someone's life, remember that your message?of Jesus Christ's unconditional love?is irresistible. Deep down, every person on earth wants to be loved and to find fulfillment.
You can make an impact on someone else's outlook by loving them. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you compassion for the unsaved people in your life, sensitivity to His timing about sharing your faith or "planting seeds," and clarity in how you express the love with which God has redeemed you.
